Bronze Military Bas Relief Plaque to Honor Navy Veteran Kontezni
It was an honor and a privilege to create this bronze military bas relief plaque to honor Navy veteran Vice Adm. Albert H. Konetzni, Jr.
Konetzni Hall – previously known as the Submarine Squadron 15 headquarters – was dedicated on April 19, 2019 in Apra Harbor, Guam.
The plaque reads:
“Highly regarded for his extraordinary character and integrity, VADM Konetzni’s career was marked by enormous contributions to our nation. A career submariner, his unique vision and leadership strengthened U.S. global maritime presence by orchestrating the return of forward deployed submarine forces to Guam, affectionately known by those with whom he served as “Big Al, the sailor’s pal,” his deep regard and resolute commitment to people who make up the United States submarine force embodied the core value of the United States Navy.”
This timeless piece, which combines age-old casting techniques with state-of-the-art technology, was created by our in-house sculptor with the help of a photograph. Crafting exacting details, the mold first captured the very essence of VADM Konetzni, down to subtle expressions.
Molten bronze was then poured to create the bas relief, followed by hand-buffing and an oxide finish that captures details and shadows. Mechanical assembly is utilized to assemble the final piece.

If you have a specific date, please let us know at the outset of the project, so we can set realistic expectations. Because we sculpt our own molds, we can sometimes rush the process for a turn-around time as little as 4 weeks.
